Gråsten Teglværk A/S
Duke Ernst Günther the owner of Grassten Castle was the first owner of Grasten brickworks back in 1903.
Following the first World War and after the reunion back in 1920 the brickworks were taken over by the state together with the castle.
In 1922 the brickworks was bought by Johan Heinrich Clausen, who also at that time owned Hillerød Teglvaerk. His son Erik Clausen took over the factory in 1931. His wife Elisabeth Omogen Clausen took over the running of the factory in 1959 when he died.
In 1962 the business became a Limited company with Peter Hansen and other family members and other factory owners in the same location as shareholders.
From 1982 to 1984 the factory stopped production due to the bad market conditions.
In 1988 Carl Matzen took the factory over and to this day it is run by his son Peter Matzen.
