The Kroyer Square

Being distinguished with the prestigious annual MIPIM-award (Le Marché International Des Professionnels De L’immobilies) as the world’s best residential building in spring 2015, the Kroyer Square housing in Christianshavn can now pride itself of the Building & Construction Industry’s answer to the film festival’s Oscar.
The Kroyer Square was nominated in competition with three other exclusive housing projects, i.e. the Cayan Tower in Dubai, One Central Park in Sydney and the Waterfront in Stavanger. Although carefully designed to match the 300-year-old warehouse environment, the resulting architecture appears modern and fully up-to-date. The contemporary buildings gently blend in with their unique design featuring up to 3-floor high steel-frame borne pleated roof constructions, topped with window cassettes and skylights. Indeed interesting architecture in a building project that obviously presented many constructive challenges.
In close cooperation with COBE/Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects and NCC Bolig as the builder, Egernsund Tegl developed the "Kroyer" brick for this particular project.
